Upstate man delivering flowers to cemetery dies in one car crash

The Spartanburg County coroner released the name of the man who died in a crash on an Upstate highway Friday afternoon.
Palmer Wayne Lee, 68, was pronounced dead just before 4 p.m. at Heritage Gardens Cemetery, at the car crash site. Lee was traveling north in a 2006 Chevrolet van on Highway 221 when he veered off the right side of the road, hitting a fence and multiple trees, according to the Highway Patrol. South Carolina Highway Patrol officials said the crash occurred on Highway 221 at Canaan Road near Roebuck, Lee was the only person in the vehicle.
