Coroner: Westminster man dies from head injury suffered in crash

The Oconee County coroner said an elderly man died from complications of a head injury he suffered in a crash earlier this month. Coroner Karl Addis said Samuel G. Haley, 80, of Westminster died Monday at Greenville Memorial Hospital from injuries he suffered in a two-vehicle collision. Addis said Haley was the restrained driver of one of the vehicles in the crash that occurred at 8:10 a.m. Jan. 16 at the intersection of south Highway 11 and Blackjack Road, near Westminster. Haley died from complications of a head injury due to blunt force trauma and the manner of death has been classified as accidental, Addis said.
