Troopers search for driver in fatal hit-and-run in Dillon County

DILLON COUNTY, SC (WMBF) – Troopers are searching for a driver who hit and killed a pedestrian on SC-38 in Dillon County Thursday morning. The pedestrian was struck at about 5 a.m. just before the Marlboro County line, according to South Carolina Highway Patrol Corporal Sonny Collins. Troopers do not have a description of the vehicle at this time, and ask if anyone has any information, to call SCHP at 843-661-4700 or dial *HP. Another pedestrian was killed in a hit-and-run accident late Wednesday night on Highway 501 in Horry County.

Latta man ID’d as victim in Dillon County hit-and-run

According to Cpl. Sonny Collins, a vehicle hit and killed a pedestrian just before 5 a.m. Thursday on SC 38, near the Marlboro County line. Dillon County Coroner Donnie Grimsley identifies the victim as Billy Wayne Summerford, 61, of Latta.
