Wendell Leigh Van Kley, 68, died, passenger seriously injured in a single-vehicle crash on Highway 20 near Mellette, South Dakota

Van Kley was driving a 2011 Chevrolet Suburban travel west on Highway 20 shortly 9 p.m. Thursday, Nov. 23, when the vehicle entered the south ditch and struck an approach in the ditch five miles east of Mellette, SD, which is about 25 miles south of Aberdeen, SD, according to the South Dakota Department of Public Safety.
