2 People Identified Who Died When Car Caught On Fire After Early Morning Wreck On Brainerd Road; Speed Ruled A Factor In Accident

Two people died on Sunday morning when a vehicle caught on fire on Brainerd Road and the occupants were trapped inside. Chattanooga Police responded to 5506 Brainerd Road at 4:31 a.m. on the report of a single vehicle crash. The vehicle was traveling east on Brainerd Road. All eastbound lanes near the wreck scene were initially closed for the investigation of the crash. The vehicle struck a sign on the south side of the road.
