Two dead, one seriously injured in separate Layton auto-ped accidents

Layton police Lt. Travis Lyman said the first incident occurred at 6:57 a.m. when a 42-year-old man, crossing west to east near 2080 N. Main Street, was struck by a northbound vehicle. He was rushed to Davis Hospital, where he was declared dead. The second incident was reported at 7:24 a.m. Two Layton High School students, a male and female, were in a crosswalk at 199 N. Fort Lane when they were hit by a northbound pickup truck; the 17-year-old girl was then struck a second time by a vehicle immediately behind the truck. The girl died of her injuries; the boy, age not immediately known, was transported to McKay-Dee Hospital in serious condition, having possibly suffered broken legs.

Officers said 42-year-old Adam Brimhall, who was in a wheelchair, was not in the crosswalk when a vehicle hit and killed him near 2080 N. Main St.
