Semis collide near Nephi; one dead, one seriously injured

Utah Highway Patrol Sgt. Todd Royce said a big rig hauling a dump trailer, owned by Ogden-based Staker Parson, was southbound at 8:18 a.m. when it drifted off the right side, overcorrected back onto the road, and then careened into the northbound lane. That was when a northbound semi-trailer, hauling wood chips out of Richfield, T-boned the first truck. The driver of the second rig died at the scene, while the Staker Parson driver was transported to Central Valley Medical Center in Nephi, Royce said.
