Man dead after being struck by train in Tacoma
The victim, who has only been identified as a 35-year-old man, was on the BNSF main line tracks about a mile north of the Tacoma Amtrak station when he was hit. Loretta Cool with the Tacoma Police Department said it appears the man was walking along the tracks and didn't know the train was coming. He was taken to a local hospital, where he was later pronounced dead.

Dodson was hit about 3 p.m. on the tracks near where Interstate 5 crosses state Route 167, and died at St. Joseph Medical Center from his injuries, police spokeswoman Loretta Cool said.
