Yuritzy Y. Giron, 19, and Veronica R. Ramirez, 18, critical and 4 others injured in rollover on I-82 south of Ellensburg, Washington
It was a tragic weekend on the roads of the Yakima Valley
Just before midnight Saturday, five young adults and a juvenile, all from Yakima, were hospitalized — two of them in critical condition — in a one-car accident 16 miles south of Ellensburg on Interstate 82 in which alcohol and reckless driving were factors, according to troopers. Passengers Yuritzy Y. Giron, 19, and Veronica R. Ramirez, 18, were airlifted in critical condition to Harborview Medical Center in Seattle. A 17-year-old female, whose name was not released because of her age, was driving the 1999 Subaru Legacy west on I-82 at a high rate of speed when she failed to negotiate a curve and drove off the roadway and rolled several times, a State Patrol news release said.
After an injury car accident, take these steps to help the recovery process
When someone has been injured in a car crash, it's hard to know what to do to help. Injured people need appropriate medial treatment, but they also need to have their civil and legal rights protected.
After a serious crash, several steps need to be taken, including dealing with the insurance companies, tracking and documenting lost income from missed work, coordinating medical bill payments, and handling an insurance claim.
