The cause of the collision is still under investigation and charges are pending. Cambron-Gutierrez’ next-of-kin were notified by the Yakima County coroner, the report said.

A male pedestrian died early Sunday, January 25, when a driver hit him on State Route 241 near Sunnyside. Juan Cambron-Gutierrez, 67, was walking in the road at 6:00 a.m. Sunday when he was hit by Heriberto Castro, 45, of Othello, who was driving northbound in a sedan. The driver was not injured. At this point it is not known if drugs or alcohol were involved in the crash.
