Girl struck and killed in Caledonia

Authorities said an SUV was northbound on Middle Rd., crossed the center line, traveled across the southbound lane and hit the young pedestrian Sunday evening. Police did not identify the girl who was killed other than to say she was from Caledonia. Brian Wall told The Journal Times the SUV driver is in police custody while an investigation is conducted. The SUV then hit a utility pole, injuring the driver.

The Journal Times of Racine reports that Caledonia Police Lt. Gary Larsen identified the girl Monday as 13-year-old Sara Dresen, of Caledonia. The 32-year-old SUV driver was jailed pending criminal charges.

Racine man to be sentenced in connection with crash that killed teenage girl

35-year-old Thomas Macemon of Racine is set to be sentenced on Friday, February 17th in connection with a crash that killed a 13-year-old girl in Caledonia in August 2015.
