Authorities identify train crash victim

Authorities think Joyce Huber was trying to get across the railroad tracks on West Grand Avenue, near Riverview Expressway, before the train got to the intersection, Wisconsin Rapids Police Lt. Joel Flewellen said.

Authorities have identified the 80-year-old Wisconsin Rapids woman killed by a train Sunday afternoon.

Authorities think Joyce Huber was trying to get across the railroad tracks on West Grand Avenue, near Riverview Expressway, before the train got to the intersection, Wisconsin Rapids Police Lt. Joel Flewellen said.

At 3:14 p.m. Sunday, a caller reported the train had hit a woman who had stepped in front of it, according to police reports. A Wood County coroner declared Huber dead at the scene.
