North Carolina State Highway Patrol is investigating a deadly accident that happened Saturday night. Troopers say a truck driver was driving on I-77, near the Mount Holly-Huntersville Road Overpass, when he drove his truck off the road and overturned. The truck driver was pronounced dead on the scene. Fifty-five gallons of oil was thrown from the truck, but it has been cleaned up since the accident.

The scene of a deadly tanker crash on Interstate 95 just south of 45th Street is now clear following a night of traffic backups on the interstate, according to the Florida Highway Patrol. All lanes were reopened just before 11:00 p.m. Friday night, close to seven hours after the accident occurred. Warner Letterman, 41, of Greenacres died after the front tire of the septic truck he was driving blew out causing him to lose control of the vehicle and crash into a tree, said an FHP spokesperson.

A tanker carrying thousands of gallons of fuel overturned and burst into flames on a Long Island highway just before midnight Tuesday, causing two injuries and an inferno that charred several cars, damaged four homes and a Harley-Davidson dealership, Nassau County authorities say. The tanker was traveling east on Sunrise Highway in Bellmore when it rear-ended another vehicle at a stop light, Nassau County police say. After the collision, the tanker turned on its side and spilled fuel as it skidded down Sunrise Highway before coming to a stop at Brevoort Place.

A semi hauling two fuel tankers overturned in Vancouver early Friday morning, spilling fuel into storm drains and into the yard of a nearby apartment complex. The truck crashed at around 1:30 a.m. on Northeast 18th Street at Northeast 119th Street, according the Vancouver Fire Department. Lines said the driver was not injured, but one of the fuel tanks ruptured in the crash and was leaking gas for hours until it was nearly empty.

An accident involving an 18 wheeler and a fuel spill snarled traffic on the Palmetto Expressway Wednesday morning. The accident had the three right lanes blocked on the 826 westbound at NW 12th Avenue. There were also heavy delays eastbound as a result of the accident.
