The two people found dead in a running car in Lebanon on Monday were killed by carbon monoxide poisoning, according to state police.
Brittany Holland, 25, of Hebron, and Casey Senechal, 26, of Lebanon, were found in a running car at Smith Road and Route 207 just before 9 a.m. Monday, state police said.
Police said someone passing by found the car with its engine on, saw two people inside who appeared to be in distress and notified state police.
A collision between two vehicles led to one of the vehicles striking and killing a woman near at North Water and West Lemon streets in Lancaster earlier Wednesday, according to police.
The deadly chain reaction was set off just before 12:37 p.m. when a 1996 Ford E250 driven by 50-year-old Lancaster resident Thomas Hogge collided with a 1998 Cadillac Seville driven by Harold White, 81, of Lancaster, according to a city police press release. White was southbound on Water at Lemon Street and Hogge was driving west on Lemon at the time, police said.
Northbound Interstate 71 is closed between Lebanon and Jeffersonville because of a crash near the 38-mile marker.
Two tractor trailers crashed near Wilimington Road just before 9 a.m., Ohio State Highway Patrol said. Traffic on northbound I-71 is being diverted at Ohio 123. Motorists are able to get back on the interstate at Ohio 73 in Clinton County, troopers said.
Only minor injuries were reported in the crash, but one of the tractor trailers caught fire, the other lost its load.
Officials say a car carrying five people left the roadway a crashed into a home in Manheim Township, Lancaster County.
The accident happened just after 2:30 a.m. Sunday at 45 Toll Gate Station.
The Eden fire Chief says the car smashed into the house, taking out numerous walls and ending up in the master bedroom.
The home was unoccupied at the time.
The Lancaster County Rescue Task Force was called in to secured the building, but due to severe structural damage the home was condemned by Manheim Township Code Compliance officers.
