The two people found dead in a running car in Lebanon on Monday were killed by carbon monoxide poisoning, according to state police.

Brittany Holland, 25, of Hebron, and Casey Senechal, 26, of Lebanon, were found in a running car at Smith Road and Route 207 just before 9 a.m. Monday, state police said.

Police said someone passing by found the car with its engine on, saw two people inside who appeared to be in distress and notified state police.

Pennsylvania State Police in York are investigating a single-vehicle accident in Lower Chanceford Township. Police say a car carrying four juveniles crashed into a tree on Brownton Road at Trinity Road around 6 a.m. Saturday. The 16-year-old male driver and two passengers were taken to York Hospital, according to police. State police say a fourth passenger, a 13-year-old female, was life flighted to Hershey Medical Center with serious injuries.

A collision between two vehicles led to one of the vehicles striking and killing a woman near at North Water and West Lemon streets in Lancaster earlier Wednesday, according to police.

The deadly chain reaction was set off just before 12:37 p.m. when a 1996 Ford E250 driven by 50-year-old Lancaster resident Thomas Hogge collided with a 1998 Cadillac Seville driven by Harold White, 81, of Lancaster, according to a city police press release. White was southbound on Water at Lemon Street and Hogge was driving west on Lemon at the time, police said.

A one-vehicle crash in Cumberland County left a Carlisle woman dead, and two others injured, late Saturday night. The Cumberland County Coroner said early Sunday that Jeannette Griffith, 34, who was riding in the back seat of a Dodge Ram that crashed into a tree, died. An autopsy is scheduled for Tuesday. According to the Pennsylvania State Police at Carlisle, the crash occurred around 11:38 p.m. Saturday on the first block of Lebo Road, Penn Township.

Two people were severely injured in an accident on Route 272 in Lancaster County on Thursday afternoon. State police said a car driven by Robin McFann, 54, of Holtwood, was traveling north and collided with a southbound car driven by Judith Chetelat, 85, of Perryville. The accident happened around 4:10 p.m. in Drumore Township. Police said McFann’s car ended up on its side following the head-on collision. Police said there were patches of snow and ice on the road and McFann was cited for driving too fast for conditions.

A tractor-trailer driver has been charged with reckless driving and speeding for a four-vehicle crash on Interstate 83 in Cumberland County that sent three people to the hospital, state police said Sunday. According to police, trucker Robert E. Singleton, 63, of New Park, York County, was northbound on I-83 near the New Cumberland exit in Lower Allen Township around 8:30 a.m. Thursday when he became distracted and hit a pickup truck, a car and a sport-utility vehicle.

Two people were injured and a horse was euthanized after a car crashed into a buggy in Lancaster County on Monday morning. The crash happened on the 1000 block of West Main Street in Upper Leacock Township. The area is just west of Peters Road. Officials said Herbert Nixdorf, 56, was driving his Dodge Avenger when he hit the back of the buggy as it was stopping to make a turn. The buggy occupants, a 49-year-old mother and her 6-year-old son, of Ronks were ejected and suffered minor injuries. Both were taken to Lancaster General Hospital.

Homicide-by-vehicle charges have been filed against a Lancaster man following a three-vehicle crash Saturday. According to reports, Carlos R. Garcia, 33, has been charged with homicide by vehicle, aggravated assault by vehicle, accidents involving death while not properly licensed, endangering the welfare of children, reckless driving and driving while under suspension – DUI related. Reports indicate the crash occurred around 1:20 p.m. Saturday on the 1300 block of E. King St., Lancaster, when Garcia struck the rear of another vehicle.

Northbound Interstate 71 is closed between Lebanon and Jeffersonville because of a crash near the 38-mile marker.

Two tractor trailers crashed near Wilimington Road just before 9 a.m., Ohio State Highway Patrol said. Traffic on northbound I-71 is being diverted at Ohio 123. Motorists are able to get back on the interstate at Ohio 73 in Clinton County, troopers said.

Only minor injuries were reported in the crash, but one of the tractor trailers caught fire, the other lost its load.

Officials say a car carrying five people left the roadway a crashed into a home in Manheim Township, Lancaster County.

The accident happened just after 2:30 a.m. Sunday at 45 Toll Gate Station.

The Eden fire Chief says the car smashed into the house, taking out numerous walls and ending up in the master bedroom.

The home was unoccupied at the time.

The Lancaster County Rescue Task Force was called in to secured the building, but due to severe structural damage the home was condemned by Manheim Township Code Compliance officers.
