A girl operating a horse and buggy was injured this morning after a collision with a tractor-trailer Monday morning on Old Philadelphia Pike in Leacock Township, Lancaster County, state police at Lancaster said. The horse and buggy, which was westbound on Old Philadelphia Pike, was turning left at 7:43 a.m. when it was struck by a tractor-trailer that was attempting to pass it on the left, police said. The tractor trailer driver, Jared Kreider, 24, of Lancaster, was not injured.

Kentucky State Police are investigating an accident near Lebanon, Kentucky which left one woman dead Sunday morning. Police say 62-year-old Ann Mattingly was traveling east on KY 84 when she lost control of her vehicle just before 10 a.m. They say Mattingly dropped off the shoulder, over-corrected, leaving the roadway striking a tree. Mattingly was pronounced dead on the scene. There were no other injuries reported.

The North Carolina Highway patrol says a 16-year-old died Wednesday afternoon in a single-car crash.

It happened just before 3 p.m. on Lebanon Rd. near Mill Creek Rd. in Orange County.

Troopers said 16-year-old Desmond Piccini of Mebane was driving a 1989 Ford Mustang east on Lebanon Rd. when the car travelled onto the eastbound shoulder.

Piccini apparently overcorrected, causing the car to cross the center line onto the westbound shoulder, where it hit a rock wall and overturned.

A Lancaster County teenager was hit by a truck while riding his bike in East Hempfield Township on Monday. Liam Bielawa, 17, suffered a broken neck, back, ribs and other injuries. Doctors say he has a long recovery ahead of him. The accident happened on a busy stretch of State Road in East Hempfield Township. Liam's family says the trucker who hit him did not stop and may not have known anyone was hit. "I'm sure he knows he was passing the bicycle but didn't realize that he hit something, that Liam ran into him," said Daniel Bielawa, Liam's father.

Police say a 19-year-old New Hampshire woman has died in a single-vehicle crash in Vermont. Scotlynn Silfies of Claremont was a passenger in a vehicle that left Route 131 in Weathersfield and overturned on Sunday night. The driver, 20-year-old Seth Smith, was treated for his injuries at Dartmouth Hitchcock Medical Center in Lebanon. Silfies was a 2013 graduate of Fall Mountain Regional High School and studied nursing at River Valley Community College. Authorities are investigating the crash.

A 20-year-old man was killed late Sunday night in a crash on Route 15 in Lower Allen Township. Garrett Levi Anderson, of Dillsburg, was killed when the vehicle he was driving northbound struck the bridge abutment on the Rossmoyne Road overpass, said the Cumberland County coroner, in a news release. Anderson was not wearing his seatbelt at the time of the crash and was ejected from his vehicle, the coroner said. He suffered multiple traumatic injuries and was pronounced dead at the scene.

Two people were transported Wednesday morning to area hospitals after a two-vehicle crash on Route 283 westbound in East Hempfield Township in which a Jeep Wrangler overturned. The driver of the Wrangler was ejected from the vehicle, but suffered injuries that did not appear to be life threatening, township police said. The crash occurred around 6:03 a.m. and briefly blocked both westbound lanes of Route 283 in the area of Spooky Nook Road.

A single-engine plane that crashed late Monday night in South Middleton Township was headed for the Carlisle Airport, according to the Federal Aviation Administration. The Cessna 172 crashed at approximately 11 p.m. at the intersection of Forge and Hunter roads. The crash site is less than a mile from the airport. The pilot of the plane was seriously injured in the crash and was airlifted to the Penn State Milton S. Hershey Medical Center, according to John Bruetsch, Cumberland County public information officer. His identity and condition had yet to be released Tuesday morning.

An autopsy on the bicyclist struck and killed by a tanker truck in Monroe Township earlier Thursday is scheduled for Friday, according to the Cumberland County Coroner. Coroner Charles Hall announced Thursday afternoon that an autopsy of the bicyclist, David Ray Wilson, 41, of Mechanicsburg, is scheduled to take place Friday to determine his exact cause of death. The collision took place at roughly 1:19 p.m. at the intersection of York and Old Stonehouse roads in Monroe Township, state police reported.

A 29-year-old Franklin Township woman on Thursday morning was airlifted by Life Lion following a two-vehicle crash in Carroll Township in York County. Sanya Wagner was driving a red Chevrolet from Range End Road onto Route 15, when she was hit by a silver Chevrolet going south on Route 15, Carroll Township police said in a news release. Police responded to the crash at 7:36 a.m. at the intersection of Route 15 and Golf Course Road. Molly Smith, 43, of York Springs in Adams County, was driving the silver vehicle, police said.
