Codey Means,15, was killed after being hit by three pickup trucks near Lakeland. Means was walking to Lake Region High School in Eagle Lake early Wednesday when he ran across U.S. 17 in front of a pickup. Juan Camacho, 48, of Kissimmee, tried to avoid a collision but he struck the boy.

Shortly before 3:00pm, a the driver of a southbound pickup truck struck a stop-sign, drove over the median, and hit an SUV in the northbound lanes. The collision killed the driver and a dachsund that were in the pickup, as well as a passenger in the SUV.

Matthew Mangrum was driving on U.S. 17 when he tried to pass several vehicles at once. His car crashed head-on with a vehicle driven by Rebecca Davis. She and her passenger, Lauren Davis, were transported to a local hospital. Mangrum was pronounced dead at the scene.

Florida Highway Patrol troopers say a pedestrian is dead after an accident that happened Saturday around 2:45 a.m. in Palatka.

Troopers say a vehicle driven by 24-year-old Brandon Knudsen of Satsuma, Florida hit 28-year-old Zachary Vittetow of Glen St. Mary.
