1 dead in Glendale hit-and-run accident

Glendale police are searching for a hit-and-run driver who struck and killed a pedestrian on Grand Avenue. Police closed down Grand Avenue in both directions from 51st to 59th avenues right after the accident occurred. Glendale Police vehicular crimes detectives have taken over the investigation and are trying to get a better description of the vehicle. A witness saw the man'€™s body lying on the roadway in the 5400 block of NW Grand Avenue just before 1 a.m. The vehicle, which appeared to be a gold or tan sedan, had left the scene before police arrived, Glendale Police Officer Tracey Breeden said.
