Mesa PD: Woman admitted drinking, taking drugs before fatal collision
Cassie Rene Sackrider, 32, "admitted to consuming alcohol, marijuana, Xanax and cocaine prior to driving on the day of the collision," according to the police report. The report also stated that Sackrider told police she had “nodded off” while driving.
Police say Sackrider rear-ended another vehicle near McKellips and Gilbert roads on Sunday. Both the driver and passenger in the car that was hit have since died from their injuries.

Police also found Sackrider had a series of prior violent crimes in Florida.
And yet, the judge let her out on her own recognizance after less than 24 hours behind bars.
