1 dead, 4 hurt in vehicle collision in south Phoenix

A woman has died and four others, including two children, are hospitalized with life-threatening injuries following a vehicle collision in Phoenix. The 50-year-old man driving the second vehicle was transported to a hospital in critical condition. The man and the children were taken to a hospital with critical injuries. Phoenix firefighters say the crash occurred shortly after 11 a.m. They say the 35-year-old woman was in one car with a 30-year-old man, a 9-year-old girl and a 5-year-old boy.

Police identify victims in Phoenix car crash

A passenger in the silver car, identified as 25-year-old Sugar Candice Montenegro was also killed in the crash. Two people were killed and three others, including two children, were injured when their vehicles collided in a Phoenix intersection late Sunday morning. Jonathan Howard said a driver, identified as 65-year-old Eddie Lee Mays likely ran a light and struck a silver car that was stopped in the intersection preparing for a let turn. Montenegro was in a vehicle with a 30-year-old man and two children '€“ a 9-year-old girl and a 5-year-old boy, Phoenix Fire Department Capt. Mays was killed in the crash.
