A possibly injured motorcyclist is missing following an accident that closed eastbound Interstate 10 in southern Arizona for much of the night.
A possibly injured motorcyclist is missing following an accident that closed eastbound Interstate 10 in southern Arizona for much of the night. Eastbound lanes were closed near Marana about 10 p.m. Wednesday and reopened about 4 a.m. Thursday. Westbound lanes weren’t affected. The state Department of Public Safety says responders searched unsuccessfully for hours along the highway near the Marana Road exit for a motorcycle rider. The DPS says the biker was thrown from his bike after a collision with another vehicle and several vehicles then struck the motorcycle, which was found at the scene. The search for the rider included draining a nearby canal. Hospitals and truck stops in the region have been alerted to watch for anyone requesting medical assistance for injuries consistent with a motorcycle accident.
