Authorities: Man killed in crash near Willcox

A crash Thursday on Interstate 10 involving two commercial vehicles left one person dead and two injured, Arizona Department of Public Safety officials said.
A Thursday collision on Interstate 10 involving two commercial vehicles left one person dead and two injured. At approximately 6:30 PM, one of the vehicles was sitting in the emergency lane on I-10 east and began to merge into moving traffic. An oncoming vehicle attempted to avoid striking the first, swerving into the emergency lane, rear-ending the merging vehicle. The crash partially blocked traffic on I-10 for more than 12 hours. The driver of the first vehicle, Ronald W. Pinkey, 42, was injured and sent to the hospital. The second driver, Jeffrey S. Sneed, 44, died at the accident site. In addition, his co-driver Melissa Westmoreland, 46, was airlifted to a Tucson hospital. Neither of the occupants of the second vehicle were wearing a seat belt.
