Three dead in Collier County accident

COLLIER COUNTY, Fla. '€“ The Florida Highway Patrol is investigating a two car accident involving multiple fatalities on S.R. 82 at Corkscrew Road. Three people are dead including a child. The investigation will keep the road closed for a couple of hours and FHP is asking everyone to avoid the area. We have a crew on the scene. 3 dead in Collier County head-on collision

Officials have identified the family of four in one of the cars involved in the deadly crash. Troopers say 28-year-old Alex Garcia and his 5 -year-old daughter Alexis died on the scene. Twenty-eight-year-old Jenny Garza is in serious condition at Lee Memorial Hospital, and their 10-year-old son Jeremiah is in critical condition at Tampa General Hospital. Authorities say two other adults were taken to Lee Memorial Hospital. Both had critical injuries.

State Troopers identify SR 82 crash victims

Investigators said the Robles’ car collided with another car that had a family of four inside Monday night. Two people in that vehicle were killed and two others were critically injured.

Mother, son recovering after SR-82 crash

Three people, including a 5-year-old, were killed in a weekend crash on SR-82 near Corkscrew, when a driver attempted to pass a group of cars. His mother, Jenny Garza, is recovering more than 100 miles away at Lee Memorial Hospital in Fort Myers, where officials say her condition was upgraded today to serious. Robles' family has asked for privacy during the recovery process and for prayers for Garza and Garcia.  

Immokalee community honors victims of SR 82 crash

Students raised money to give back to the Garcia family. Garcia’s fiancee, Jennifer Garza, and son Jeremiah were both badly injured in the crash. The 10-year-old remains in critical condition as of Thursday night.

Immokalee Fire Chief, FHP fed up with SR-82 crashes

“It does begin to take a toll on you,” Chief Paul Anderson Jr. with the Immokalee Fire Control District said. “You can only have to go out there and cut a dead family out of a car so many times before it starts impacting you emotionally and physically.”

Three killed, including 5-year-old, in State Road 82 crash

The front left of the Impala struck the front left side of the Altima, according to a Florida Highway Patrol report. The Impala continue west and rotated counter-clockwise before ending up off the road. The Altima ended up in a ditch on the south side of the road.
