According to a Florida Highway Patrol report Nauman was traveling north in his 2013 Ford van when the vehicle drifted off the east shoulder where it struck a utility pole. The pole broke and dropped several live wires onto a 2002 Buck driven by Richard Bacik of Sarasota.
A Fort Myers man died Saturday from injuries sustained in a crash in Sarasota County.
Joseph Nauman was pronounced dead at the scene just after 10 a.m. The incident occurred near the intersection of US 41 and McIntosh Rd.

Bacik, 51, was stopped for a traffic light and was not hurt. Several lanes of the intersection were closed for a couple of hours during the investigation.
A utility crew fixed the damaged pole.
