FMPD: Driver jumped into river after crash on Caloosahatchee Bridge

Fort Myers Police are investigating a crash in which the driver left the scene and jumped into the river to avoid getting arrested.  The crash happened on the northbound span of the Caloosahatchee Bridge around 3 p.m.  Police say the driver of the vehicle left the scene before authorities arrived.  Officers searched the area and found the driver walking on the north side of the Caloosahatchee Bridge.  That's when the suspect jumped into the river to avoid getting arrested.
