Scott Christopher Terry, 38, was killed he drove his 2008 Dodge Ram into the back of a tow truck driven by Leon Harvey Hill Jr. around nine miles north of the Indiantown Road exit in Jupiter.

Hill was traveling northbound in the inside lane of the roadway when he allegedly tried to make an illegal U-turn onto the southbound lanes, according to the Florida Highway Patrol. Terry was directly behind Hill’s vehicle and was unable to stop in time.

The left-front side of the Dodge Ram struck the tow truck’s rear bumper, causing the truck to collide with the center median.

Both drivers were taken to Lawnwood Regional Center in Fort Pierce. Terry died at 12:57 p.m. Hill was in serious condition late Monday.
