Woman killed, man seriously injured in 4-car Avondale crash
The woman in the Cobalt, thought to be in her 50s, was taken to Advocate Illinois Masonic Medical Center, where she was pronounced dead, according to Chicago Police. The Cook County medical examiner’s office could not immediately provide additional information.

The woman, identified by family members as Maria del Carmen Venegas Garcia, was on her way to church. Her 64-year-old husband, Andres Garcia, who was driving the Cobalt, was taken to Illinois Masonic Medical Center where he is recovering from broken ribs.
