The Missouri State Highway Patrol reported that a 2004 Pontiac Grand Prix driven by James R. Sarlo, 37, of Vandalia was heading north on Missouri Route F about 5 miles southwest of New London when the car went off the right side of the road at 5 a.m. Tuesday.

The accident report stated the Pontiac left the left side of the road, striking an embankment and a tree.
