Tow truck driver hit by truck before it crashes into abandoned house

Authorities told Channel 11 News a truck converted into a tow truck was towing a car in the area of Climax Street and Estella Avenue in Beltzhoover around 2 p.m. when the driver got out to put something behind the tire. The truck began to drift down the road and the driver tried to stop it, but was hit by the truck. The truck then continued drifting down the road and eventually slammed into an abandoned house.
The tow truck driver was rushed to UPMC Mercy Hospital after an accident in the Beltzhoover neighborhood. No word on his condition.
