Man taken to hospital after hit-and-run in Hazelwood

Police said they’re investigating a hit-and-run that took place Monday afternoon in Pittsburgh’s Hazelwood neighborhood.

At around 3:35 p.m. on Second Avenue and Almeda Street, a pedestrian was struck by a car. According to a witness, the man was thrown into the air and a gun fell out of his pocket. The driver stopped for a minute before taking off. The pedestrian was taken to a local hospital, but the extent of his injuries was not released.
