DPS: 5 dead in crash near Dripping Springs
DRIPPING SPRINGS, TEXAS - Authorities are investigating the cause of a crash that killed five people just east of Dripping Springs on Sunday afternoon. DPS confirmed to KVUE the crash happened near U.S. 290 and Crow Ranch Road shortly after 2 p.m. Sunday, just east of the city limits.
Fatal car accident in Dripping Springs
The Texas Department of Public Safety is investigating a fatal car accident on US Highway 290 in Dripping Springs. This is the second fatal car accident in our area on this Mother's Day. According to DPS, the crash happened near U.S. 290 and Crow Ranch Road, just east of the city limits. It is unclear at this time how many fatalities are associated with this accident.
Five killed in Mother's Day crash in Dripping Springs
According to Texas Dept. of Public Safety officials, a 2016 Lincoln was heading eastbound on 290 when the driver lost control of the car.
At the same time, a 2000 Buick was heading westbound. Investigators say the Lincoln struck the rear of the Buick.
