Houston-area officer dragged by car shoots, wounds driver

BAYTOWN, Texas — A Houston-area police officer answering a domestic disturbance call has shot a driver while being dragged about 40 feet by the fleeing car. The Baytown officer arrived at the woman’s apartment complex to find the suspect in a car. The driver reversed the vehicle and dragged the officer, who was caught in a window. Police say the suspect’s estranged wife went to a nearby clinic for help, saying her spouse was destroying her property. Police say the officer shot the suspect.
