Suspected drunk driver to face charges in deadly head-on crash in northeast Houston

Houston police say a woman will face charges for driving her SUV into oncoming traffic in northeast Houston and hitting another car head-on, killing the driver.It happened just before midnight on Laura Koppe Road and Arkansas.Police say her vehicle crossed the center line, and hit the victim's car head-on.The driver in the car died.Police believe the driver of the SUV was drunk.

Woman dies after SUV crashes into car in northeast Houston, police say

Houston police said a woman was driving her SUV westbound on Laura Koppe when she crossed into the eastbound lanes and slammed into a car. A woman died and another is facing charges after a head-on collision in northeast Houston on Friday. The crash happened about 11 p.m. at Laura Koppe Road and Arkansas Street. The driver of the SUV was also taken to the hospital and will face charges in the wreck. According to police, the woman in the car was taken to the hospital but died.

One person dead after head-on collision

A woman was killed late Friday night after she was involved in a head-on collision at Laura Koppe road at Arkansas street, according to Houston Police. It is unclear as to why the SUV veered into oncoming traffic however, Houston Police believe alcohol was a factor in the crash. Around 11 p.m. another woman and a man were in an SUV traveling westbound when the vehicle crossed over into oncoming traffic and slammed into the victim's car. The woman who was driving the SUV was also taken to hospital and is now facing charges.

Woman charged in fatal crash on Laura Koppe

The suspect, Maria Guadalupe Udave, 34, is charged with intoxication manslaughter in the 183rd State District Court. The identity of the deceased female victim, 58, is pending verification by the Harris County Institute of Forensic Sciences.
