1 killed in crash on Southwest Freeway

HOUSTON '€“ At least one person was killed in a crash during wet weather on the Southwest Freeway early Friday. The crash happened at about 9:15 a.m. in the southbound/outbound lanes of the freeway near the exit for Westpark. As of 10 a.m. all southbound lanes remained blocked with traffic being forced to the frontage road.

HPD: Heavy rain, wet roads blamed for fatal crash on SW Fwy

The driver, in a white Nissan Sentra, had trouble staying in one lane. Police say the rain caused the car to hydroplane.
