Pearland officer killed in crash

Officer Endy Ekpanya was en route to a non-emergency call around 3:30 a.m. when a female driver in a gray Chrysler SRT car crossed over the middle lanes and hit the officer.

Endy Ekpanya, 31 was traveling on eastbound on FM 518 when a car driven by Amber Willemsen, 38, headed westbound allegedly crossed into the eastbound lane, striking Ekpanya's patrol car near Country Club Lane around 3:15 a.m. Both were rushed to Memorial Hermann Hospital where Ekpanya was pronounced dead.

Funeral planned Tuesday for Pearland officer killed in crash

A public viewing will be held from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. Monday at Grace Community Church on Gulf Freeway.

Ekpanya's funeral will begin at 10 a.m. Tuesday at the church.

Woman who killed Pearland officer in drunken driving crash sentenced to 32 years in prison

Willemsen was convicted by the jury Tuesday for hitting and killing the 30-year-old Ekpanya while she was driving under the influence.
