Loop 1604 shut down on West Side due to major crash

Emergency responders have completely shut down Loop 1604 on the West Side from Military Drive to Ellison Drive due to a major crash. San Antonio Police Department spokesman Officer Douglas Greene said authorities received reports of a motorcycle crash around 2:15 p.m. Greene said that while the scene is still active, and the exact details of the crash are not yet known, initial reports from officers were that the rider fell off his bike and may have suffered an amputation. It was unclear whether the victim was hit by another vehicle, Greene said.

TransGuide shows Loop 1604 is closed in both directions at Wiseman and that drivers should expect a long delay or should use an alternate route.
