Interstate 10 lanes near Loop 1604 shut down following major crash

San Antonio Police Department Sgt. Walter Smith said the woman was one of two passengers in a four-door sedan headed west on the interstate when it slammed into a guard rail around 9:30 a.m. near the exit for Pfeil Road, which is just outside Loop 1604. Smith said the woman was thrown into the windshield of the car during the crash, causing it to shatter and throw glass in front of the vehicle.
