One dead when truck and Trax train collide, police say
Howard Glenn Hillam, 80, of West Jordan, likely died on impact in the 10:52 a.m. collision, according to the Unified Police Department. He was driving a Ford F-250 on 8000 South near 100 East. As of 4 p.m., Unified Police Department Lt. Lex Bell said, the north and south Trax near the scene remained closed and would be closed for several more hours. The collision derailed the train and damaged the rails. Blue Line passengers can take a bus from Midvale Station to Sandy Station and vice versa.
