Woman seriously injured in crash on Holland Road in Suffolk

A 24-year-old woman was seriously injured overnight Wednesday when her car overturned off of westbound Holland Road/Route 58 in Suffolk, a city spokeswoman said.

Emergency crews responded shortly after 12:30 a.m. to the 2600 block of Holland Road, near Kings Mobile Home Park, spokeswoman Diana Klink said in a news release.

Firefighters used the jaws of life to remove the roof of the Nissan Sentra in order to pull the woman from the car. Authorities believe she was driving eastbound and crossed over into the westbound lanes where she then ran off the road before overturning and coming to rest in a ditch against a tree. She is currently in the hospital in stable condition.
