Investigators have identified the two men killed in a helicopter crash in northern Tuscaloosa County Tuesday morning as a 63-year-old Alabama Power employee and a pilot from Georgia, 51.

Sgt. Dale Phillips, the commander of the Tuscaloosa County Metro Homicide Unit, said the sheriff's office was called around 11 o'clock Tuesday and asked to locate a missing helicopter.

A 16-year-old St. Clair County teen died Monday after a single-vehicle crash.

The Alabama State Troopers today identified the teen as Jonathan Harris. The crash happened about 9:45 a.m. Saturday on Roberts Mill Pond Road, three miles west of Pell City.

Authorities said Harris' 1999 Jeep Grand Cherokee left the roadway and struck a tree. He was taken to UAB Hospital, where he was pronounced dead on Monday night.

The crash remains under investigation. Harris was a sophomore at Moody High School where he was a football player and a wrestler.

A two-car crash on Highway 69 near Jasper claimed two lives on Monday night.

Alabama State Troopers say 34-year-old Jeremy Philips of Cordova died when the truck he was driving collided head on with another truck around 9:15 p.m.

The driver of the other truck, Jeffery Stovers, 50, of Jasper was killed as well.

A female passenger in Philips' trucks was transported to UAB with life threatening injuries. The preliminary investigation shows she was wearing a seatbelt, but the two men who died were not.

The wreck is still under investigation.

An elderly Chelsea woman was killed Saturday in a two-vehicle crash in Shelby County.

Alabama State Troopers tonight identified the woman as 85-year-old Margaret Pate. Pate was a passenger in a vehicle that collided with another, troopers said.

The wreck happened about 4:30 p.m. on U.S. 280 in Westover. It wasn't clear whether there were any other injuries, or what led to the crash.

Troopers said they couldn't release any additional information at this time. The investigation is ongoing.

Authorities have identified a man killed earlier today in a collision with an 18-wheeler on Interstate 65 near Warrior.

The Jefferson County Coroner's Office identified the victim as Michael Wayne Marsh, 47. Marsh was from Hayden.

The crash happened at 4:15 a.m. on I-65 southbound at Exit 280. An 18-wheeler and another vehicle, Marsh's 1998 Jeep Wrangler, were involved in the accident in the southbound lanes of the interstate just south of Warrior Jasper Road.

A woman was hit and killed when a speeding car drove over a curb on a northeast Birmingham road.

Angela Marie McCall, 34, was killed in a hit-and-run on Parkway East, Birmingham police spokesman Lt. Sean Edwards said.

Around 12 a.m. Wednesday, an individual was driving eastbound on Parkway East near a man in a Grand Prix who was speeding down the road.

The witness drove behind the Grand Prix and honked the car's horn before driving around the car. The driver of the Grand Prix began driving erratically, around 60 mph, the witness told investigators.

A 64-year-old Fayetteville, Tennessee, woman died in a three-vehicle crash Wednesday night in Limestone County at Alabama 251 and McKee Road. Troopers identified the victim as Judith Bracewell. She was driving a 2005 Ford and was wearing her seat belt.

The two other drivers were not injured. Troopers identified them as Walter Moore, 25, of Elkmont, driver of a 1996 Ford van, and Paul Ramsey, 77, of Athens, driver of a 2007 Honda.

Troopers said Bracewell was pronounced dead at the scene of the 6:25 p.m. accident.

A 72-year-old Vinemont man was killed Sunday evening in a two-vehicle crash in Cullman County.

The Alabama State Troopers identified the victim as Ervin Lane. The crash happened at 4:55 p.m. on Alabama 157 at the 11 mile marker.

Troopers said Lane's vehicle collided with a tractor-trailer, left the roadway and overturned. Lane was not wearing a seat belt.

The crash remains under investigation. No other information was available.

An 11-year-old boy was on his bike when he was hit and killed by a van on Saturday afternoon.

State troopers said the wreck happened around 2:30 p.m. on Highway 72 one mile east of Woodville.

A van carrying two people hit Joshua Daniel when he pulled into the path of a Dodge Caravan.

Family members said Daniel was probably walking his bike across the road. Witnesses said they saw him fly into the air after he was hit. He was transported to the hospital where he was announced dead.

Daniel would have turned 12 in October.

Investigators have identified the man struck and killed by an Amtrak train in Tuscaloosa Thursday afternoon as a local 21-year-old man.

Sgt. Dale Phillips, the commander of the Tuscaloosa County Metro Homicide Unit, said the victim was Cecil Dillon Ross, who was struck by the train and killed around 1 p.m. Thursday.

Phillips said witnesses reported that Ross was wearing headphones while walking down the track and may have never heard the train coming.
