“So of course we will be looking at everything that happened, all of our equipment, the processes to see what needs to be improved. That will also be part of the investigation. Right now our thoughts are with the family and her friends.”

A nurse fell to her death from a medical helicopter hoist while on a rescue mission of a woman on a hiking trail in Austin. Kristin McLain somehow became detached from the hoist Monday night as the rescued hiker was lifted from the Barton Creek Greenbelt. The patient was taken to an Austin hospital with non-life-threatening injuries. The National Transportation Safety Board is investigating the deadly accident.
