Capital Metro bus accident in Austin leaves pedestrian dead

Investigators say a pedestrian has died after she was struck by a Capital Metro bus in Austin.A Capital Metro statement says the accident happened Monday night at an intersection.Officials say no passengers were board the bus at the time of the accident in North Austin. The bus driver was not hurt.Authorities are investigating the cause of the fatal accident. The name of the woman who died wasn't immediately released.

Bus driver cited after striking, killing pedestrian

According to Austin police, the bus had a green light to turn, but it is unclear currently whether the women had a walk signal to cross the street. Police said pedestrians "technically" have the right of way all the time, unless a crosswalk signal tells pedestrians not to cross.
