At about 4:00pm Anderson was caught speeding by a police officer on Chester Pike, who then chose to make a U-turn and followed Anderson down a few other streets in an attempt to pull him over. Then, Anderson apparently re-entered Chester Pike at a high speed, but lost control and collided with another vehicle head-on. A passenger in that vehicle was hospitalized in critical condition, while Anderson was pronounced dead at the scene.
Four people died and two others sustained major injuries in a head-on crash Friday near the intersection of San Juan and Palm Avenues around 1:30 a.m. Firefighters found three people dead inside a burning Buick LeSabre car and a fourth person deceased on the road. A fifth person from the Buick, identified as Michella Figueroa, was transported to the hospital with major injuries. The driver of the second vehicle, a Subaru, was also transported to the hospital with major injuries.
At about 2:30 p.m. Friday east of Steed Terrace on County Road 48, Bradley D. Schroth lost control of his pickup truck and veered into the path of an oncoming Lexus sedan driven by Eric D. Williams. Williams swerved to avoid the collision but was still struck offset head-on on the left side of the Lexas, according to authorities. Neither man was wearing a seat belt, and both men died at the scene.
