It was early in the morning when Christopher Garbinski, 23, Sylvanus Egerton, 27, and Luke Munster, 24, were all riding skateboards down Loop Road, and were attempting to turn left onto Quaker Hill Road, but were likely traveling too fast and crashed into the trees off of the roadway at the intersection. Garbinski, who wasn't wearing a helmet, was fatally injured in the crash and pronounced dead, while both Egerton and Munster sustained only minor injuries.

Gary Stilwell was traveling to Maria Carrillo High School on a skateboard. He was riding south on Calistoga Road through the Badger Road intersection when he collided with a car that was turning left on Badger. Stilwell was hospitalized with minor injuries. The driver, 27-year-old Carolina Campos, was not injured.

A 15-year-old St. Petersburg boy was killed in a skateboarding accident Sunday evening. Julio Moisa, 15, was driving with a learner's permit along Atwood Avenue N towing a skateboard with a rider behind his mother's Mercedes sedan. The boy on the skateboard, Austin Demauro, 15, a freshman at Northeast High School, let go after completing a trick known as "skitching." At this point the boy lost control and fell from the skateboard, striking his head against the pavement. He was not wearing a helmet. Demauro was transported to Bayfront Health St. Petersburg, where he was pronounced dead.

According to the sheriff's office, the longboarder was not wearing a helmet and was injured, while the moped driver was not injured.

A 16-year-old was seriously injured after falling from a mountain board, similar to a skateboard, while being pulled by a vehicle in Ashburn, Va., Sunday. Another 16-year-old was driving the vehicle, which had a rope tied to the rear, in the parking lot of Broad Run High School. That teen has been charged with reckless driving. The victim, who was not wearing a helmet, was taken to Inova Loudoun Hospital and was later airlifted to Inova Fairfax Hospital. Last year, another Virginia teen died in a similar incident.

A 15-year-old girl from Murrieta was in a coma and on life support following a skateboarding accident Sunday. The community is now rallying to help raise funds to pay for her medical expenses. Madison Olson was skating down a steep street in San Clemente, when she lost control. She was not wearing a helmet and suffered a serious head injury. Her father, Jason Olson, has faith she will survive, but realizes there will be huge medical expenses.
