Rufus Howard was traveling on Claronca Road when he attempted to pass the car in front of him but instead collided with the front of a car driven by Corey Saint Simon. Both people involved died of their injuries. Howard had recieved 10 driving violations since 2006, and was a convicted sex offender.

Police received a morning report of a boat sticking out of Apopka Lake with no one in it. It is believed Grady fell out of the boat and could not make it to shore.

Two teen boys died Friday night when an SUV hit them as they pushed a broken car down a rural road, according to Apopka Police.

The deceased have been identified as Axel Padro and Cameron Gabriel Gonzalez. Both were 18 years old.

Police told reporters a third teen also was pushing the car, but jumped out of the way before the crash. A fourth teen, behind the wheel of the car, also was not hurt.

"The crash is still under investigation and no charges have been filed at this time," Apopka Police said.

Orange County firefighters were called out for a small plane crash Sunday afternoon.

Firefighters said the plane crashed on Haas Road, near Apopka, just after 2 p.m. Sunday.

Officials said there were two people on board and both suffered traumatic injuries.

The pilot and passenger were transported by Air Care to Orlando Regional Medical Center while a fuel spill was being cleaned up.

Florida Highway Patrol troopers are investigating an accident involving a teen that was hit on a busy Apopka Road.

Orange County firefighters were called to the accident at Rock Springs Road and Faye Street, in front of Rock Springs Elementary School just before 7 p.m. Saturday.

Officials said a 17-year-old had been hit by an SUV and was suffering from traumatic injuries.

Firefighters said the teen was taken to the hospital with very critical injuries.

Troopers have shut down Rock Springs Road while they conduct their investigation.

Police are on the lookout for a driver that caused a six-car crash in Apopka, with one person taken to the hospital in critical condition.

Apopka police said a car was stopped Friday night near the intersection of State Road 436 and Piedmont-Wekiva Road.

The car then sped away, possibly during a pursuit, according to police, causing a crash involving six cars.

The driver of the suspect vehicle then got out of the vehicle and ran on foot from the scene.

Police said the search for the driver remains ongoing.
