Two people died this afternoon in a car wreck on U.S. Highway 2 about four miles north of Spokane, the Washington State Patrol said. The two-vehicle collision is blocking the northbound lanes of the highway at East Lane Park Road, near the Big R store. It happened about 4:30 p.m.

Amanda Drewer was pronounced dead at the scene of the accident, which occurred on private property about five miles southwest of Lacrosse. Drewer was the lone passenger in a 1988 GMC Suburban driven by Taylor Martin, 19, of Lacrosse. Martin was airlifted from the scene to Providence Sacred Heart Medical Center in Spokane with neck injuries. He was listed in satisfactory condition Sunday.

The Washington State Patrol is reporting that a motorcycle driver was killed in an accident on I-5 near Southcenter on Sunday evening, around 5:47 p.m. The driver was pronounced dead at the scene. A passenger on the motorcycle was taken to Harborview and is in stable condition. Investigators suspect alcohol was a factor.

 Perla Hernandez was killed in an accident when a car jumped onto the sidewalk where she was walking. The driver may have lost control because a 16-year-old behind the wheel of another car is believed to have failed to yield the right of way. Neighbors rushed out as Hernandez's mother came upon the terrible scene. "It was like watching a train wreck," said Amanda Albrightson. "(It was the) worst thing I've ever seen in my life." Police are still working to determine who is at fault.

A man died and another was seriously injured Thursday night after a car crashed into a ravine in Arlington. The wreck was discovered by a passerby about 9:30 p.m. near the 20300 block of Burn Road, Arlington city spokeswoman Kristin Banfield said. The passerby saw tire tracks and found a Chevrolet Avalanche overturned, she said. Both people in the car had been ejected.

A woman walking with her dog on Northeast Hazel Dell Avenue was seriously injured Wednesday night when she was struck by a vehicle. The accident was reported at 9:16 p.m. in the 8600 block of Northeast Hazel Dell Avenue, across from Target. The northbound vehicle struck the woman as she crossed the roadway, according to the Clark County Sheriff's Office. The woman was transported to a local hospital, said Sgt. Fred Neiman, spokesman for the agency. The driver was uninjured and was cooperating with law enforcement.
