A vehicle attempted to avoid a roadside safety checkpoint on Highway 35, and when a Mississippi Highway Patrol officer attempted to stop the vehicle, it ran off the roadway and overturned. The driver was apparently a nine-year-old boy and the car was full of children. A 13-year-old male and a 3-year-old male died in the accident. and the driver and a 13-year-old female were transported to a local hospital. When the vehicle went off the road, two of the occupants of the car were ejected.
