A deputy was injured in a violent pursuit in Fairfield on Wednesday during the a pursuit of a stolen vehicle. The Solano County deputy’s car sheared off a light pole and hit another pole at Highway 12 and Pennsylvania Avenue. The deputy was taken to the hospital with what are described as non-life-threatening injuries. The accident came at the end of a high-speed chase involving a stolen vehicle. A driver led La Mesa police on a chase Wednesday night that entered Lemon Grove and ended in a crash and arrest. No one was injured. At around 9:35 p.m. a La Mesa officer observed a driver in a white Dodge Charger run a stop sign at Waite Drive and Harris Street. The driver ignored the officer’s attempt to pull him over, kicking off a chase on state Highway 94 and city streets. The Dodge’s driver turned off his lights and attempted to lose officers by running stop signs and red traffic signals, according to a statement from La Mesa police.

A man was arrested after crashing his car during a police chase and then trying to run from officers. A police officer saw a car driving erratically on Richmond near Shepard around 2 a.m. Tuesday, according to the Houston Police Department. When the officer tried to pull over the driver, he sped off and police pursued. Officials said the man raced down Richmond for a few blocks before crashing into a truck. Police said the driver jumped out of the car and took off running. Police quickly caught him. Officials said the man is suspected of drunken driving. Charges against him are pending.

A high-speed chase through some of the busiest streets of San Francisco ended in a crash, and the suspect was taken into custody. It started when police stopped the suspect in the Bayview District. Police said the suspect was acting suspiciously as though in possession of a weapon or contraband, and took off. Officers pursued the suspect on a high-speed chase through the Bayview, Taravel and Ingleside neighborhoods. At one point the suspect rammed a vehicle and almost hit a patrol car. Shots were fired, hitting the car but missing the suspect.

Police arrested a juvenile and were searching for two men on Sunday after a police pursuit and car wreck in Trimble County. Kentucky State Police said a car was pulled over for speeding in Henry County, then the driver fled and was chased by police. After the car crashed in Bedford shortly after 2 p.m., police arrested one juvenile male and charged him with fleeing and evading and criminal mischief. Police said he was on his way to juvenile detention Sunday evening. Two men escaped on foot, police said, and they issued an alert to Trimble County residents.

A police chase through Fort Bend County and the rollover that ended the chase was all caught on camera. A passer-by caught the tail-end of the chase on their cell phone. The chase started Saturday morning when a Richmond police officer tried to pull over a man that had two felony warrants. Instead of pulling over, the driver took off, leading police on a high-speed chase through Fort Bend, Wharton and Austin Counties. The man eventually crashed his SUV in Rosenberg after losing control.

A teenager has died and two other people were injured after a crash early Thursday in Nashville that followed a short police pursuit. One person was killed and two others were injured after a crash involving a stolen vehicle in Nashville. Police say a Toyota Camry that had been reported stolen and identified from several armed robberies was spotted by officers who attempted to initiate a traffic stop.

A man was taken into custody early Thursday morning following a police pursuit that began in University City and ended in Clairemont. At about 4:50 a.m., a clerk at the United Oil gas station on Governor Drive near Genesee Avenue called San Diego police about a man who tried to smash a store window with a sledgehammer. Police briefly chased the suspect, later identified as Vongdara Vongvichitch, through surface streets before he crashed the Honda Civic he was driving into a fence on Limerick Avenue off Clairemont Mesa Boulevard in Clairemont.

A 23-year-old Las Vegas man wanted on felony warrants rammed two police cars when confronted by police Tuesday morning, Las Vegas police said. Officers spotted a black Mercedes 350, reported as a stolen vehicle, being driven by Samual Donesing near Flamingo Road and Decatur Boulevard about 10 a.m. Tuesday. Donesing was wanted on felony warrants related to possessing a different stole vehicle, police said.

A man who led a Carroll County deputy on a high-speed chase avoided serious injuries despite flipping his vehicle on the median of I-77 just south of the Poplar Camp exit. Luke Payton, who recently moved from North Carolina to Smithfield, Va., was complaining of back and neck pain but showed no visual signs of injury following the wreck, according to a Virginia State Trooper. Payton was transported to Twin County Regional Hospital, where he was treated and released.
