Jessica Costanzo and Gabriella "Gigi" Longpre were killed in a devastating car accident. The young women were heading home from IHOP on State Road 70 around 2 a.m. when a Ford SUV ran the red light at the intersection and slammed into them. The driver of the SUV was allegedly 16-year-old Emerson Herrera. Manatee County Sheriff's investigators say after the wreck, he got into a friend's truck and took off before officers got there. That truck was stolen. Charges are pending against Herrera. He has a criminal history that includes accessory after the fact for murder.
