Des Moines-Ames, IA According to the Appanoose County Sheriff's Office, Robert Broshar, 68, left his granddaughter inside his home as he went out to start and warm up his SUV. Unbeknownst to Broshar, the little girl came outside as he began to move the vehicle, and she was struck. Broshar rushed her to Mercy Medical Center in Centerville, where she later died. The accident happened around 2:20 p.m. Monday.
