At about 8:02 a.m., 17-year-old Michael Baunsgard was eastbound on I-90 and trying to pass a semi-truck so that he could take Exit 85, but lost control of his vehicle. His car then went off the roadway and down the off-ramp embankment, and he was injured and brought to the hospital. His passenger Hunter Davey, 17, was not hurt.
It was about 2:00pm when Carriveau, who was driving east on I-90, veered off the roadway to the left, which caused the car to roll multiple times until it finally came to rest on its side in the median. He was injured in the crash and taken to Ellensburg Hospital, but has likely already been released as he was supposed to be transferred to Harborview Medical Center, but there was no record of him being there. Juan Linares, 31, was driving east on I-90 in a car with Chavez, a 10-month-old boy, and an 11-year-old girl as passengers when he somehow lost control, departed the highway and struck the median before re-entering the road. At about 1:00pm, Cunningham was traveling westbound on I-90 when she attempted to change lanes, but then ended up striking another westbound car, driven by Scott Collins, 42, and both cars departed the road and came to rest in the median. Cunningham was seriously injured in the accident and was airlifted to a hospital in Seattle, but Collins was uninjured in the accident.
At about 12:30 pm, Hernandez was traveling westbound on I-90 and lost control when she tried to change lanes. Her car then spun and collided with a 2007 Lexus 470 driven by Kandie Baker, 47, of Cle Elum, which caused both cars to depart the road on the right, rollover, and land upside down.
